WILLIE JAMES NORMAN JR

Mr. Willie James Norman, Jr. (MSG, Army Retired) of 6065 Hunter Ridge Circle, Columbus, passed Friday at the Columbus Hospice House. He was 68 years old. Born in Warwick, Georgia on August 2, 1939, Mr. Norman was the son of the late Willie J. Norman, Sr. and Catherine Lewis Norman. He was a 26 year Veteran, having served during the Vietnam Conflict and was also retired from Civil Services after 15 years as a mail carrier. He was preceded in death by a sister, Maeola Norman. Survivors, include: his wife, Mrs. Karen K. Norman of Columbus; a brother, K. C. Norman (Martha) of Sweetwater, TX; three sisters, Jeanie Johnson of Sweetwater, Lucille Norman of Summer, GA and Bessie Rushing (Roy) of Sylvester, GA; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Kircher (Emily) of Toccoa, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Homegoing services for Mr. Norman will be Thursday, 11:00, Graveside at the Main Post Cemetery with Reverend John Fell officiating. Full Military Honors will be accorded. Visitation is Wednesday, 2 til 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The cortege will depart from the residence at 10:30 the morning of the service.
